Default Nov. 4th... Colts or Pats?

The two undefeated AFC monsters will clash on November 4th. My question to you is : the Colts or the Patriots? (plz dont answer just on your fanhood. answer who honestly you would think would win according to how the team plays)

The Patriots have been dominating their opponents lately. With their tremendous victory over Dallas, the Patriots have clearly shown that no one can mess with them. They have a more powerful offense (yes, even i thought their offense couldn't get any stronger) this year, with one of the leagues best wide reciever. In every game this season, they dominated opponents always winning by more than 1 or 2 touchdowns. But are they ready to take revenge on the Indianapolis Colts, who crushed their Superbowl vision last year with a startling comeback in the AFC Championship game?

IDK why, but the Indianapolis Colts dont get alot of spotlight, well not as much as the Patriots do this season. Aren't the Colts undefeated, like the Patriots? Are they not defending Superbowl champs? They have one of the leagues BEST quarterbacks (honestly, i think Manning and Brady are on the same level, both VERY skilled like no other QB.) and two Probowl wide recievers, not to mention a very talented TE. For an underweight team like the Colts (lightest in the league i believe), they have impressed me. Well, maybe they arent getting attention is because they dont dominate the scoreboard the way the Patriots do.

Who you think will win, and continue on as the only undefeated team so far. It will be a very exciting game, and a preview of the AFC Champ. game. (unless the Steelers do something about it)

If you wanna bet on this game or gimme your opinion, post here or PM me ingame.

I'll use TMQ's generic prediction: best record wins unless both are tied, then the home team wins.

IMO part of the reason the pats are winning is they are catching teams at the right time. They beat up the chargers while the bolts were still getting things sorted out. They caught the cowboys after a short week and after they narrowly won against the bills. If you look at who the pats have beat, only the cowboys have a winning record. Don't misunderstand, they are the best team in the league right now however they aren't unbeatable and each week they have run up the score at the end of the game (which will come back to get them).

I haven't seen any games since the Superbowl.

I'm guessing the Pats have a better offense this time?

I don't think wannabe bookies are allowed. lol

The Patriots (My favorite team) do have one of the best offenses in the league. However their defense is missing Richard Seymour and might be slightly hampering the defenses effectiveness on the line of scrimmage. Other than that I wouldn't be surprise for another Super Bowl win, which will secure the patriots status as one of the great dynasty in the NFL.
The Colts are pretty much a strong offense team. However the Colts' defense is not good as the Pats. The Colts defense have allowed 17.6 PTS and is currently ranked 11th. The Patriots have allowed only 15.3 and is ranked 6th.

When it comes down to betting I have to bet for my hometown team the Patriots!!! "Humble Pie" anyone?

Another thing to bear in mind is their respective schedules between now and then. New England couldn't have it any easier: at Miami and then hosting Washington. They can probably pull the starters (at least the skill positions, if not all of them) for the second half of each game and not bat an eye.

Indy, on the other hand, is looking at considerably tougher competition. Jacksonville always gives them a good run, and then they have to travel to Carolina after a short week. Harrison, Addai, and Sanders all left the Tampa game early due to injury; luckily for them they were on bye this past weekend.

In any case, this game is shaping up to be a great one. I'd guess that the Patriots will have a slight edge after seeing them play on Sunday...but I know better than to bet against the Colts in the dome. Especially given the recent history between these clubs.

The Patriots defense is way overrated. The only thing that stopped Dallas on Sunday was Dallas being stupid with a bunch of penalties. As others have said, they haven't played anyone of note except Dallas and San Diego when they for some reason San Diego WOULDN'T GIVE LT THE DAMN BALL! The Patriots offense is pretty legit of course but the best defense they have played against is Dallas' and they are not built to deal with the speed that New England had, they are built to be big hitters. Indianapolis has a small, speedy defense that might give New England problems. Since this game is being played in Indianapolis I think I am going to have to say that the Colts will win 38-31.

Pats will win, why? Because the Colts are plauged by injuries. They may have enough time to get back but who knows. Harrision and Addai are both out as are others who I can't remember because it is 1am. The only problem I see is the Pats lack of a run. But I think that can be conqured thanks to a good recieving core and Tom Brady being just a freaking amazing QB. Pats in a close one. 42-38

I am gonna say the Colts. I'm a fan since I live in Indiana. My basis for them winning: none, I just have faith in their ability.

I'm gonna say the Colts, and it's also safe to say that whoever wins between the Patriots and Colts is going to be the best contender for the Super Bowl.

Pats. They are playing amazingly and are just steamrolling every team they come across. Every player on that team excels at their position and play it to near perfection.

After watching the Redskins/Patriots game yesterday, what little respect I had left for Bill Belichick evaporated completely. New England was winning 38-0 with 11 minutes left in the game when they came to a 4th-and-1 in the red zone. Of course, being the arrogant jackass that he is, Belicheat decided to plow forward. A false start and two plays later, the Patriots found the end zone again.

Fast forward four minutes. NE is at 4th-and-2 on the Washington 37. Note that by this point Tom Brady has left the game, replaced by backup Matt Cassel. The pursuit of the touchdown record is no longer relevant. The offense goes for it anyway, scoring on the ensuing set of downs. The extra point makes the score 52-0.

The whole second half of this game was an insult to Joe Gibbs and everyone associated with the Washington franchise. Gibbs has three Super Bowl rings too, and did I mention that he's already in the Hall of Fame? I hope that in fifteen years, just as ol' Bill is winding down his career, another coach teabags his team even worse than what happened yesterday. It will serve him right...the dirty prick.

I have to agree with Jumping Is Useless' assessment. Yes I live in NH and yes I'm a Pat's fan but have been even before they started dominating. 8-0 with an average victory margin of 17 pts (sans the video camera) is not a fluke. I like the semi rivalry with the Colts though. NE and Indiana keep each other on their toes.

By the end of the first quarter look at the average yards gained per drive. Whoever is on top will likely be the winner when the clock runs out.

So you are mad because the Patriots won by a large margin?

That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. The Sox sweeping the series and beating CO by over 10 runs in game 1 must have infuriated you.

Well of course Belichick "plowed forward". It's a football game and the idea in football (as in most sports) is to score points. Interesting coaching strategy you are offering. "Well that's enough points for us. Let's just play pass and catch now till the clock runs out."

Are you suggesting they enact scoring caps now? I kind of thought the reason you play and get paid to play is to score and win. What could they have been thinking?

Oh and if beating someone is an insult, what is losing? A compliment? Please, people learn to diss correctly.

I am mad because they won by a totally excessive margin.

Coaches with a soul don't pass and catch. When you're ahead by 5+ touchdowns, you run the ball to burn time and you sure as hell don't go for it on fourth down.

That's exactly my point. Players get paid to win. They could have backed off at halftime, because even then it was evident that the game would be a blowout.

No, the NFL has no mercy rule, but this event was well beyond poor sportsmanship. I guarantee that if it happens again in the near future, some opposing team is going to retaliate with a fury. I'd expect to see Tom Brady or Randy Moss in a hospital bed.

You are mad because the Patriots won by an excessive margin? ROFL. First of all it shows proper preparation on the Patriots by Bellichick, and lack of preparation on the Red Skins by Gibbs. Its not an insult when you are obviously beaten by a better team.

The Patriots didn't choose to run the ball because they did not want to take another chance on re injuring Lawrence Maroney, who had just come back from a 2-3 game injury. Also what coach in unprofessional or professional sport will tell his team to take it easy on a game? I remember from my high school football and cross country track years, coaches would never let us relax or be complacent when we were ahead.

I don't think the Patriots did anything wrong or showed any unsportmanship. The NFL is a competitive league the Red Skins had many chances to score, but did not capitalize on them. Putting a cap on the score is of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. What happens if both teams reach the cap, GG tie?
